Buffalo Haul

Sunday, February 20, 2011

I meant to do a haul post for awhile now but never got around to it. Today, my family and I went over to Buffalo to buy some clothes. So it's a perfect opportunity to do a haul post!

I seriously envy you Americans. The prices you have are so darn cheap and I wanted so many things! Unfortunately, I didn't come back with as many things as I wanted. We lost 2-3 hours because of a flat tire so we had less time to shop. My goal was to buy a pair of skinny jeans but sadly I was on a cash limit and wasn't able to get these nice ones from Charlotte Russe because I thought it was $14.99 instead of $29.99.

Boots from Famous Footwear @ $24.99US
Striped shirt from Aeropostale @ $8US
Running shoes from Foot Locker @ $25US
Legwarmers from rue21 etc! @ $1US
Denim half-jacket from Charlotte Russe @ $9.99US

I actually didn't really wanted the boots or legwarmers in the beginning. My mom told me to just get them because they were cheap and after all, she was paying for my purchases.

Hopefully the next time we go to Buffalo, there wouldn't be a flat tire.

Valentine's Sweetheart

Monday, February 14, 2011

Happy Valentine's Day! I decided to pull together a really quick outfit idea for those going out with their special someone today. However, this outfit is more appropriate for those living in the warmer regions because it's still chilly where I am.

To welcome the arrival of spring (hopefully), an adorable floral dress will make you look fresh and innocent. It is one of the most popular patterns right now on the runway too. Pairing with some cute flats and accessories, it is a perfect Valentine's outfit for a casual date without going overboard to look you best.

What about makeup? Well, my favourite makeup guru, Jen, has an amazing tutorial you can try out.

Style Study: Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler

Saturday, February 12, 2011

I recently rewatched Sherlock Holmes and is inspired to make this post. In the movie, Irene Adler is played by Rachel McAdams (who was also in Mean Girls). I absolutely loved her gorgeous Victorian style here. There were a few variations of style that she wore throughout the movie. Today I will focus only on one. (I may or may not do a style study on her other outfits. If you want to see more, please comment and let me know!)

I believe the first time when you see Irene dressed in a men-styled outfit, it was when she was about to be cooked alive. Lol! I really like seeing the feminine version of a male's outfit. I have composed a few items for this inspired look!

Christian Dior Spring 2011 Couture

Saturday, February 5, 2011

About a week and a half ago, I saw the cover page of Toronto's free newspaper, Metro. On the front was a picture of a gorgeous dress on a model:

This is the Christian Dior Spring 2011 Couture Collection. After seeing this picture, I had to go check up on the collection. Here are a few of my favourites:

Honestly wish I could go around wearing these dresses, like in black and white Hollywood. That would be lovely.
