Review: Sephora Palettes

Monday, August 22, 2011

It's been a while, so to get back into the routine of regularly updating once again I decided to start this routine off with a post about Sephora palettes.

To start off, the first product would be the Sephora Colorista Custom Makeup Palette. As soon as I saw this palette at Sephora I knew I had to have it since I've been looking for a decent palette for a long time. Not only was this palette inexpensive (it cost me $23 instore), the palette was also customizable (which comes in handy when you want to travel or you need to do a quick touch up during the day)!

This palette consists of 40 eyeshadows, 5 cream eyeliners, 15 lipglosses, 4 blushes and two bronzers (in addition to the portable case). I am very happy with my purchase and I would recommend this product to anyone who loves the variety of shades and colours. The colours are great as well as the blushes and the bronzers. It's a very lovely mix of neutrals and shimmery eye shadows. The only thing to look out for would be the lip glosses which are very soft. It's easy to just dab your finger in deep by accident.

The second product I got was the Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette and it cost me $34 in store.

I am in love with this palette as well. I love all the colours; my favourites are taupe, peach and plum. It's very shimmery but very wearable as an everyday look. To apply these colours effectively, you really need a damp brush or else the colour won't turn out as noticeable on your eye lids. I found this palette pretty inexpensive considering the amount of product and colours you have. It's small and compact and it is very much worth the price you pay.

And so ends my little spiel on Sephora palettes.

Hope you enjoyed it :)

FOTD: frmheadtotoe's MAC Turquatic

Friday, August 19, 2011

I tried out Jen from frmheadtotoe new makeup tutorial. It is based off of MAC's Turquatic perfume collection. You can click here for the makeup tutorial, pictures, and products.

Not having the same products, I had to improvise. I changed up a couple of things from the original look. Instead of lining my eyes black, I thought white opened them more. (Reality: I couldn't smudge in the black eyeliner into my lashline.) I did not have an aqua green liquid eyeliner so instead, I went for some green glitter, skipping out on eyeliner completely.
