Happy Belated Halloween

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

Believe it or not, I did not do anything for Halloween. So I thought I would dress up for a bit to for the belated Halloween spirit. It was supposed to be Vampire Masquerade but I didn't have any fangs unfortunately. I used Tarte's True Blood palette, does that count?

Review: Sephora Palettes

Monday, August 22, 2011

It's been a while, so to get back into the routine of regularly updating once again I decided to start this routine off with a post about Sephora palettes.

To start off, the first product would be the Sephora Colorista Custom Makeup Palette. As soon as I saw this palette at Sephora I knew I had to have it since I've been looking for a decent palette for a long time. Not only was this palette inexpensive (it cost me $23 instore), the palette was also customizable (which comes in handy when you want to travel or you need to do a quick touch up during the day)!

This palette consists of 40 eyeshadows, 5 cream eyeliners, 15 lipglosses, 4 blushes and two bronzers (in addition to the portable case). I am very happy with my purchase and I would recommend this product to anyone who loves the variety of shades and colours. The colours are great as well as the blushes and the bronzers. It's a very lovely mix of neutrals and shimmery eye shadows. The only thing to look out for would be the lip glosses which are very soft. It's easy to just dab your finger in deep by accident.

The second product I got was the Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette and it cost me $34 in store.

I am in love with this palette as well. I love all the colours; my favourites are taupe, peach and plum. It's very shimmery but very wearable as an everyday look. To apply these colours effectively, you really need a damp brush or else the colour won't turn out as noticeable on your eye lids. I found this palette pretty inexpensive considering the amount of product and colours you have. It's small and compact and it is very much worth the price you pay.

And so ends my little spiel on Sephora palettes.

Hope you enjoyed it :)

FOTD: frmheadtotoe's MAC Turquatic

Friday, August 19, 2011

I tried out Jen from frmheadtotoe new makeup tutorial. It is based off of MAC's Turquatic perfume collection. You can click here for the makeup tutorial, pictures, and products.

Not having the same products, I had to improvise. I changed up a couple of things from the original look. Instead of lining my eyes black, I thought white opened them more. (Reality: I couldn't smudge in the black eyeliner into my lashline.) I did not have an aqua green liquid eyeliner so instead, I went for some green glitter, skipping out on eyeliner completely.

Favourite Hyuna's Bubble Pop Tutorials

Saturday, July 30, 2011

I used to be really into Korean pop music. I still am, except I don't keep track of the latest songs or bands as much as I used to before. I just want to share with you guys a couple of tutorials that I absolutely LOVE done by two separate and popular Asian gurus that did a look for one of the singers from the Korean band 4minute, Hyuna's, latest song called Bubble Pop.

They are popular on Youtube for talking about Korea's entertainment and teaching about the lifestyle and etc. Here is their take on Hyuna's new song.

Anime North 2011

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Every year since 2006, I always went to Anime North (except 2008). This year, I was actually planning to skip out on it because I have lost a bit of interest and the entrance fee is ridiculous ($40 for Saturday only). However, I promised my little sister who never got the chance to go that I'd take her. So, I ended up going anyway. It was funny because I got excited for Anime North AFTER I left. So I am now trying to volunteer for other anime-related conventions in Toronto.

I wore The Beatrice Sailor Suit from The House of Pomegranates. It has a Vampire Knight feel to it. : )

Youtube Channel!? :O

Sunday, May 29, 2011

So a few days ago I decided to make a Youtube channel for this blog to share things like makeup tutorials and OOTDs. To be honest I have no idea how often this channel will be updated. Like mentioned, I only got into fashion very recently so I am no expert. But I would love to share my views on things and such. : )

I apologize that I have such a low quality camera on my phone. I honestly do not have a phone for myself. >< Maybe one day and everything will be good. : )

Bow heart t-shirt, Zara
Denim half-jacket, Charlotte Russe

Path to Summer

Here are two potential prom dresses that me and my friend were close to getting! Mine was the black dress and the reason I didn't get that (despite it being very black swan like) was because it was black. I adore black dresses but wearing black to prom was something I didn't really want to do :).

For my friend, she adored the "mermaid tail" part at the back of her dress and the colours! But it was around $400 and definitely way above her budget. So she wasn't able to get that dress either :(

Both dresses were found in Toronto on Queen Street!

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

Clean Makeup Brushes with Household Items!

Sunday, May 22, 2011

Are you a makeup fanatic? If so, you likely use your brushes very often. However, after awhile, all of the dirt, oil and sebum from your face will be trapped onto your brushes. Reusing these brushes means that you will reapply all of the dirty stuff back onto your face! That's not good. So what is a cheap way to make them squeaky clean? Proceed below!

You simply need: extra virgin olive oil, antibacterial soap, and a plate

Pour these together onto the plate. Don't go overboard with the olive oil like I did though! ><

Eek, these are my dirty brushes I will be cleaning!

Swirl the brush into the mixture. After, rub this off onto your hand. Then set aside onto a paper towel.

Look what was left over from all my brushes!

Rinse into cold or warm water, not hot! Hot water will damage the brushes. Dry off with paper towel.

Yay for cleanliness!

Letting the water seep out of the brushes upside down in a cup so they won't get ruined.
